The landscape changes constantly with the changing of light, seasons and time of day. I “morph” or change my landscapes to show different aspects of reality. One scene can be viewed in multiple ways, incorporating different techniques, moods or visions. Instead of painting realistic elements in nature, such as trees or rocks, I use repetitive circles or shapes to build my landscapes. The landscape can then be viewed as a specific place, or as a universal and timeless scene. Less reality, and more essence of landscape. With a commissioned scene, I would take the specific, and make it more universal, abstract and individual.
